I worked 4 years for Intelligarde, trained
by Sean Wood in 1989.
Next I joined the Canadian Forces:
Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry,
for 6 years, and because of my time and experience with Intelligarde
posted to the Guard House
as a Regimental Policeman.
Once my time was completed I left the military and joined
the Alberta Department of Solicitor
General as an Alberta
Sheriff (formerly
Constable).

My duties now include prisoner
transport to and from various detention centres, court security
for Provincial and Queen's Bench
Courts, holding
cell security, perimeter security, and close security for
the Chief Justices,
which is a Sergeant position. Our branch
now covers these duties for all courts in Alberta and also
includes prisoner transport from other Provinces to Alberta.
My department also does Alberta
Highway Patrol for traffic enforcement.
It all began as
an 18 yr old college student, his dog Bear conducting patrols
at "Location A",
a certain road, and a mall when they were the trouble spots
back in the late 80's early 90's.
Thanks for the training Ross,
Sean, and Jan.

I recently accepted position as Police
Constable with the Toronto
Police Service. I want to express my gratitude
and appreciation for the fact that Intelligarde fully supports
their employees in their pursuit of a policing career.
I believe that my experiences with Intelligarde and the
opportunities for advancement played a vital role in my
success throughout the Police
Selection Process.

Without
the guidance and knowledge learned from the Quality Control
Manager and the rest of the Intelligarde management
team, I would have not grown and been prepared to face the
challenges offered to me in this new career.
Sincerely,

Since Intelligarde, I worked as a Loss
Prevention Agent at Sears
and then at a Corrections
Facility in Kingston.
At Sears, I investigated credit card fraud, apprehended shoplifters,
and conducted surveillance on employees suspected of stealing.
The arrests I made there seem like “a walk in the park”
compared to situations I experienced with Intelligarde in Toronto.
I now realize just how fortunate I am to have dealt with such
a rough crowd in one of the worst areas of the country. Intelligarde
taught me what inner-city crime really is.
I recommend Intelligarde to anyone interested in a career
in law enforcement.
Thank you, Intelligarde.

UPDATE: Today
I am a Police Officer with Niagara
Regional Police Service. Intelligarde opened
my eyes about law enforcement. I believe, without that experience,
I would not have excelled into a Police Officer.
